ok so instead of digging up my old thread about my kayak trip, Ive decided to just make a new one.

Ill have the time to probably jam out anywhere from 4-6 songs while floating in the atlantic. heres the prereqs:

1.gotta fit on one page with chords and lyrics,
2.gotta be somewhat easy
3.gotta be chord only songs.

One of the songs is going to be White Sandy Beach, so any other suggestions would be helpful.

1. White Sandy Beach
2.
3.
4.
*5.
*6.

suggest away

thanks for the help!

In the dead easy department:
Fisherman's Blues (The Waterboys)
F*ck Her Gently (Tenacious D) <-- No water theme, but good for a laugh

In the can be a little tricky department:
Somewhere Beyond The Sea
Water Runs Dry
I'm on a boat (http://chordie.com/chord.pere/www.guitaretab.com/t/the-lonely-island/178278.html?=&1944-06-06=always&transpose=&tuning=GCEA) <-- seriously, if you manage to uke-a-lise this and get a vid of you singing it while in your kayak, I'll buy you... something. Something not too expensive!

Not sure how it would sound on uke, but Cool Change (http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.guitaretab.com/l/little-river-band/10614.html?=&1944-06-06=always&transpose=&tuning=GCEA) by Little River Band might be interesting...definitely fits the occasion!

I second the vote for Rainbow Connection by Kermit T Frog.

Also: Lime in the Coconut (don't know who wrote it, but Bob covered it).
Loving You by Adam Sandler
E Ku'u Morning Dew (tranditonal)
...and um Dare to Be Stupid by Weird "Al" Yankovich (or the Biggest
Ball of Twine in Minnesota depending on time restraints).

How about Rock the boat by Hues Corporation (http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/tabfu.thudspace.net/h/hues_corporation/rock_the_boat.pro?1944-06-06=always&transpose=&tuning=GCEA)

I reckon it'd sound pretty great on the uke.

I also support Rainbow Connection.

In that vain I would also suggest I Don't Want to Live on the Moon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIq8jLj5TzU). It is an old Sesame Street song. The second verse is all about not wanting to live under the sea.

Lime in the Coconut (don't know who wrote it, but Bob covered it)
Harry Nilsson wrote it and sang it. Bob did not cover it, but a certain frog did:

Not a full blown tab, but here's a quick howto. Chords are here (http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.guitaretab.com/t/tenacious-d/22552.html?1944-06-06=always&transpose=&tuning=GCEA).

For the non strumming parts, simply pluck the strings individually downwards - 4,3,2,1. As you get better, add the last two strings, i.e. 4,3,2,1,2,1. Then maybe crank it up to 4,3,2,1,3,2,1.

For an idea of what I mean, watch this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f62lI3UoMKE). If you want to spice it up for more accuracy, copy this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVLQ-qniQpQ).

Hopefully that helps, if not - open up a thread specific to this song and I'll try to be a bit more verbose (obviously I don't want to derail this thread!) :)
