Can somebody comment on the reliability of wooden tuners? I love older ukuleles, but I have drawn the line at wooden tuners. I do fine with friction tuners, and I have grown accustomed to the "press in" brass tuners that do not have the screw to lock them in, but I am still skittish about the wooden ones.
I was really admiring the Kumalae that Ahnko Honu has. The photos show it unstrung and without tuners. It just caused me to be curious about what the complications might be if I bought an ukulele that had wooden tuners.
