 I just tried to record a little video of myself playing and i ran into trouble. No matter how low i turn the recording volume when i play and sing with my ukulele i get these nasty clipping and distortion when i hit the strings just a little bit harder. I have a logitech quickcam pro 9000 and it sounds quite good when i record with it (voice) and the video seems also ok.
Does someone have a tip for me there?

I hope this is the right forum as it isnt really a problem with the ukulele no? anyway, any ideas are appreciated.

i made a little video showing what happens-> video clipclip

Maybe windows turned on the micboost... if it did, turn it off at the sound settings (you'll find them in your taskbar on the lower right bottom, it's a little speaker symbol) and in there at the "microphone" setting.

Hey that was quick, thanks for the idea, but the cam has a seperate recording level and i turned off the boosts in there already i am afraid :(

What software are you using to record? Perhaps it has its own audio gain. Try recording something with the Windows sound recorder.

I take it you have tried the Audio Tuning Wizard that comes with the webcam?

Maybe there's something here that will help.
