Getting oil off my ukulele?

on my ukulele there are oil spots where my hand hits when i chunk,
and theres oil all on the back of the neck, where my thumb slides around,
is there a way of removing the oil?
or is it there forever?

It may not be exactly "oil" but rather a glossy patch from rubbing as you play. Not much you can do about that. If it's gummy gunk (usually on the neck) you can try a solution of Witch Hazel and water. It's also good if you get that nasty green build up around your frets. Don't go nuts with it though, you don't want excess solution soaking into the fret slots. Just a damp toothbrush is all you need. The toothbrush idea may help on the neck buildup as well.
