I just got my uke yesterday, and I am starting to learn how to strum. Now I really want to know if there are particular songs that are fairly easy. And if you have tips for that song, please post.
~ Thanks! :D

Here's a place that I found very useful when I was just starting out. http://www.doctoruke.com/theory.html

Click on WAITING ROOM at the top of the page to bring up his home page. Click on songs and you will have just over 400 songs to play around with. I gave you the theory page first because I found it helpful to work on basics. Certain chord progressions show up all the time, mastering a few can make the learning process faster.

On top of that, you are posting your question on the best free uke lesson sight that exists. Click here http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7224 and work your way through.

Learn the easy chords first - C, F, Am, and G (plus G7) and you will have a wealth of songs you can play. Lots of songs are played in C-F-G - blues, Bob Dylan, rock, folk. Throw in the Am and you have lots of 50s' doo-wop songs, too. Great fun.

Lots of sites online that have simple songs. Check out chordie.com for your favourite artists and songs. Use the tool on the right to transpose the guitar chords to ukulele chords and the key to C.

chordie.com has been my new best friend as I have gotten more serious about playing. I was able to find a few songs that I already loved to sing and transpose them to a key to fit my low voice. THAT has made a tremendous amount of difference to me because I don't have to pay attention to the lyrics and can concentrate on my playing. I think I'll have a couple down pat from memory, start to finish, by week's end.

Just get into an extended jam on C6 and practice your backbeat mute. :D
