This may have been discussed but I could not find it in the search mode. I have been reading about the various thicknesses of ukulele strings and that some have tried fluorocarbon leader material. I noticed that a local tackle shop has Perlon Monofilament available in 50 yd spools at less than $5. Perlon is supposed to be better that normal monofilament. I also found references on the Internet that Perlon is used in some violin strings as the core.
Anyway, has anyone tried this stuff? The various uke strings I have tried (Aquilla, Martin, Worth) seem just as stretchy as fishing line. Either way I might just replace a string just to see. If it doesn't work, I'll use it fishing!
Maybe it's just a condition - "USES" - Ukulele String Experimentation Syndrome!
