Hi All,

I was curious as to whether anyone might know why The Ukulele Shop (based in London) has closed down?

The Ukulele Shop was based in London quite some time ago, but then moved its headquarters to Berlin. Richard was English, and Jana was German. I understand they moved to Berlin for family/personal reasons. The on line store continued functioning most satisfactorily (from the customers' point of view), but Richard told me the switch to Germany had caused some difficulties, so they decided to wind up the ukulele side of their business, and concentrate on other things.

The Southern Ukulele Store is a new British on-line seller of ukes. I've bought from them, and they are most satisfactory to deal with.

Mahalo John, very interesting.

In my fantasy world I live in in my head - I sometimes think owning/running a ukulele shop like The Ukulele Shop would be a wonderful thing.

The reality is runing a shop - especially a specialist shop is long tough hours :-(.

I wish the southern ukulele chap who's set up on Ebay all the best; there does seem a bit of a gap so fingers crossed he/she will do well.

The word on the street is that S.U.S are off to a flying start, and doing very well. One of those involved in the venture is our own Cosmos colleague Luapelele, (Paul).
