I'm having problems with sustain on my cheapo stock GHS strings. During recordings, it seems my pickup won't hear the last remnants of the note. So I'm wanting to upgrade, but my main concern is the sustain of the strings. Any suggestions?

To get more sustain, you can also replace the nut and saddle. It costs about $25 in materials. The saddle is easier and can be done without a lot of effort.... just a little filing (sanding smooth) and pop out the old one, pop in the new one. The nut is trickier, but, if you keep the old saddle and nut, you can always put them in again.

Yo can also try Worth strings. They give a lot of susstain but are a little softer and give a little less punchy sound then aquila strings.

I'm an Aquila fan, but I think Worth Clears have more sustain. I've got them on my tenor Fluke, and they really sing.
