The most expensive/rarest museum piece ever. Then you could auction it off for like a gazilion dollars and buy all the cool ukes you want....right?

How could I possibly know the answer to that?? I live in Wisconsin, and have never been to Hawaii.... I know that it would be from there. I really like the body shapes of Ogatas but I'd like a more traditional soundhole than a lot of what he has on ebay, and of course, I've never heard one..

Pretty Much I would like a solid koa tenor cutaway geared tuners, rosewood fretboard, not too gaudy really clean looking with some nice simple bindings of some honey colored koa, simple rosette, I like a real sharp cutaway... some elctronics..

I guess my dream uke wouldn't be like SUPER rediculously expensive..

I like the look of Hummingbird ukuleles a lot...

The main thing I want out of a uke is FUN, so I frankly wouldn't be comfortable with an extremely rare/expensive one. I do hope to travel to Hawaii again someday, where I would like to hand pick a nice uke, but even then I can't see spending much over $500 for something that I haul around to the beach or the dog park.

But I'm pretty utilitarian with my stuff - I'd pick a Honda over a Mercedes, for example, simply because to me they just represent reliable transportation, which is all I want from a car, and the Honda provides it at a more reasonable price. So I don't salivate over BMWs or 3000-dollar ukes any more than I do over Jeep Wranglers and koa Flukes.

Kanilea Tenor with straight grain koa top and curly koa back and sides, ebony binding, maple rosette, my chinese name inlaid on the ebony fretboard, Fishman matrix active pickup.

But for now, i'll just settle for my K1-T with the Fishman. It comes plenty close in terms of sound and awesomeness. :P

My Kamaka HF3 Tenor
A KoAloha Pineapple Sundae
One of Dave's Banjoleles (I'm thinking the tenor)
A Koa Fluke with the expensive pickup
And one made from a log that Ahnko picks for me.

A Kamaka baritone would be nice. But what I'd really like to have is a custom luthier-built concert with a pickup. Solid Hawaiian koa isn't necessary, mahogany is fine. I don't even need inlay. There are several world-class luthiers with which I would be content.

I think my two picks would be either

George Harrison's ukulele

or

A custom straight-grained koa wood ukulele, with vine inlay on the fretboard, abalone binding, active electronics, slotted headstock, geared tuners, and a gloss finish.

Ever since I saw a post by Ahnko Honu about a flea with a carbon fiber soundboard... I have wanted one... Gosh yep tenor size neck with a CF soundboard, plastic fretboard. That would be awesome!

My hankerings are modest too. I'm trying to save for a Kala solid acacia tenor. It'll take a while, the way things are, but what the heck?

I want an ukulele that is pure gold, yet light as a normal ukulele, and sounds like the heavens are shining upon us when played.
It must have mystical powers, and when wielded by my hands, I can become ukulele man..
An indestructible superhero fighting for all of justice and humanity. Playing music so beautiful it brings bad men to their knees.
Carried away?? maybe a little... yeah i want THAT ukulele..

No doubt about it - I would want a custom made, absolute mint condition Martin baritone ukulele!

Actually, I was thinking of how to construct this:

A uke crafted out of clear plexiglass, so that its construction can be seen from the outside. (I'm talking a really fine polish to preserve its transparancy) with the fret markers in frosted colored plexi...

I know, an odd request, and I doubt it'd even be possible, but it sure is interesting.

More realistically, a carbon fiber uke.

I'd want a Larrivee spruce & mahogany CONCERT uke - the one with 14 frets ot the body - they're pretty rare as they only made a few of them!

Yep, that's what I'd like in my dreams...

And mebbe an Earnest Instruments Stradelele in flamed mahogany and spruce with Peghed tuners and a gloss finish... hey, why restrict my dreams?
