I've got an old Fender Prodigy (props to anyone who knows what that is), that I'm gonna bring back to life. I'm looking at a Duncan JB at the bridge. A luthier friend recommended a coulple of Van Zandt Vintage Plus's at the middle and neck. I got a couple of better strats for the cleaner sounds, so this babe, I'm looking for a real dirty tone. Anyone have any experience with the Van Zandt's? Or other recommendations?

Thanks,
flug

I checked out Van Zandt's site. It looks like they have hotter models (Blues and Rock) which might be better for your purpose.

If you are trying to match the bridge humbucker output, you could try some Dimarzio twinblade PAF model humbuckers that are designed for that kind of thing. I have had good experiences with Dimarzio's.

I'm going to go ahead and try the vand zandz out. I just got a beautiful sunburst Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and am thinking those pickups will scream strattiness through that babe. will let you all know when it's done.
