Ok, i'm used to guitar, but I went to hawaii recently and picked up a $10 tourist uke i didn't intend on playing and just wanted for decoration. i ended up playing with it and i love it. Of course, coming from a couple of real guitars, the size is tough to adjust too so i'm looking at a tenor.

I currently have 2 acoustic/electric cutaway guitars and I kind of want the same in a uke. So i'm looking at this..

but i keep reading about how great koa is. so i'm looking a this..

now the the loss of sound really that noticeable? I really want the cutaway and pickup, it's just so tough since the prices r so similar

thanks!!

ah, thanks for the info. that makes it much easier since i really wanted the cutaway and pickup

right now it comes with a chord book and pitch pipe, since i already have an electronic tuner and i figure chords r easy to find online, he said he could switch it up for the roy sakuma dvd for an extra $10. is it worth it?

I'm certainly with nuke on this one -- definately the cutaway with the solid top. I'd get the DVD while you're at it -- you'll probably blow through it reasonably quick, and then you'll have it on hand for others you will certainly influence to pick up the uke.

Have fun, and welcome!
