Number 6 sounded good or was it the player that made it sound so good?

08-01-2009, 03:58 PM
My vote is for #11

Either 11 or 12, it's the same uke. :biglaugh:  :smileybounce:

I had it down to 4 or 8. But after listening more I think I would go with 8.

I probably picked a pink mahalo.:D

When MGM is playing they all sound good.

I picked #2, it was close.

08-01-2009, 04:48 PM
I would take #6.

Number 11.

11 :shaka:

I like #11 best.

I am surprised at how many sounded very similar. Semi-finalists were 6 and 8.

I also liked 3,4,7,10.

So many good sounding ukes. I can't wait to see the answers.

I love this kind of blindfold test.

It's really hard to pick a favourite since I'd love to play any of them.

I really liked #10. I think I should start saving money, I really want it :)

I would take #6.

6 spaaaaxws

I would pick number 6 or number 11 .... I think I like number 11 more.

08-01-2009, 11:34 PM
#6 was the first one that sounded really good to me. 11 was pretty nice too. And if either one of those happened to be an ABC Store tourist trap uke strung with Aquilas, I'll have to buy one next time I'm in Waikiki.

Another vote for 11 here too, this is a great contest i find it quite amusing. Can't wait to see the answers... I might take a guess but i'm not even gonna pretend to know which is which, i would bet the winner had a lucky guess at it too!

08-02-2009, 05:10 AM
wow, interesting how many people have picked 11. Without looking at this thread, that was one that I starred as I listened too.

I also liked 5.

08-02-2009, 05:22 AM
In my most recent listen #6 is my first choice. They all sound nice and would find a very happy home here. :D

08-02-2009, 07:09 AM
I might have said this on another forum, but I love the sound of number two.

08-02-2009, 07:21 AM
It all depends on how it handles. It might well sound heavenly, but if it continually wants to dive out of my hands as I change from an A to a D7, I'm not going to buy it.

08-02-2009, 08:23 AM
I'd take either #2 or #11

I hate to sound like a scratched record but I have to pick 11 though 2 came in a close second. ;)

08-02-2009, 10:35 AM
Michael, I think you are going to have a run on no. 11s...

08-02-2009, 11:58 AM
I like 3, 7 and 11.

08-02-2009, 01:07 PM
Obviously folks are really liking number 11. It must be that they all know what they're talking about, but I have to admit....

I can hardly tell one of them from another. I'm a relative noob, but they all sound nice to me. On my first try, I picked 3, 5, 9, and 11 as being all solid ukes. It'll be interesting to see whether or not I really heard a difference....

I'm thinking it'll only take another 3 or 4 hundred thousand guesses before someone stumbles onto the correct combination.... :D

08-02-2009, 03:25 PM
I hope this is #11.

I hope this is #11.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/317IQzWBrYL._SL500_AA280_.jpgI like 11 because it sounds soft compared to the others. But saying that, I like the others for their different sound as well (some sound brighter, others more "fun little uke" sounding.

I just want to add that I do hope one I like is super cheap so I can make an excuse to buy it. :D

I think Mike has successfully fanned the flames of my UAS. I can't stand waiting much longer! When will we find out the identities of the 12 tenors? Or is he now stocking up on the most popular ukuleles before revealing the list? Do we really have to wait until someone guesses all 12 correctly?:wallbash:

I liked 11 because it was the only one I listened to after all the hype.

It does sound nice. I've never been sold on Solid sounding better than laminate. Sure it's better quality and whatever but I'm a fan of playing whatever you want to play.

I'm hoping that after a few months of guessing I'll be able to compile all the answers and mathematically determine the correct order.

MGM, my plan will really be more easily accomplished if you would grade each one?

Just did another run through all 12 after giving my ears and head a rest, and really want #11 now. If that's not the solid Kanilea I will have to sacrifice a soprano to Pele (vicariously in a fire pit) to please bring me some uke mojo. I'm so curious as to when we find out what's what. I will say it is a bit tougher having the sounds all reduced to YouTube quality plus whatever speaker/headphone quality we have.
