I have a new Tyler Mtn TMBU200 and I didn't like the sound it had with the resonator. Tyler Mtn. doesn't make a model w/o a resonator.

So I disassembled the banjo uke and took the resonator off. After three hours I got it back together and I think it's just as loud and sounds better.

GF had some with and without resonators and I am not sure which is more desirable. W/o the instrument is a lot lighter and easier to handle.

Does any one have any ideas on this?

UKIsociety gave me the lowdown on this before i purchased my goldtone banjolele. everything he told me held true, including the fact that his eyes are dreamy.

the banjolele is way loud with the resonator. slightly less loud without. sounds good to me either way. think of the removable resonator as a volume knob with two positions (loud and louder).
