You're on to something with Melodica. I thought a couple of months ago that would be my next purchase, but ended up getting a new guitar and then a new uke first. Now I may pull the trigger on one so we can mess with it at the SS Ukers jam.
Others: Jaw Harp (Snoopy brand), Bongos
Not piano. I played uke in church last Sunday, and the pianist was playing along in practice. I told her to cut it out.

Melodica + Uke is awesome. My friend and I covered (the nirvana cover) of Jesus Don't want me for a sunbeam and I think it's played on guitar + accordian so uke+melodica makes it prettier. Plus the original version is a 1/2 step up than the cover so it sounds good on uke like that.
Also oddly enough uke sounds good with a theremin (my friends song)

speaking of Melodica's, I haven't ever found a good local place for one and searches online always turn up some weird giant monstrosities... anyone know of a good (cheap) melodica?
