I made a two videos playing my two tenors (Pono Macassar Ebony Tenor & Kanilea Koa Tenor)... I was in a rush this morning so I may have been playing a little faster than normal... Both have Aquila Nylgut High G strings.

Here's the Pono PTES-500

Here's the Kanilea Koa

Give the Pono some time to open up - both are gorgeous! And great playing!

Thanks for the comment. The strings on the Pono are 2-3 days old and probably had about 30 minutes of playing time.

I've been playing the Pono more just so I and Pono can get more familiar with each other.

I play Pono before I go to work and Kanilea after work. Not planned, just seemed to work that way.

I like them both... But if I were to pick one or two differences between both. I'd say Pono is heavier in weight and quieter in sound. Everything else is pretty much the same as far as tenor uke comparison goes.

Kanilea sounds better to me too. Much sweeter sound. I'm sure the Pono will serve you well over time too. Great playing!

Awesome. Kanile'a over the Pono. Now, if we were talking about Kanile'a vs. Ko'olau then that might be a different story.
