So upon playing my ukulele again after several months of guitar study, I wanted to try playing a few guitar songs I had the music for. They were all chords and when I played them from the tabs as ukulele chord shapes it sounded off.
But when I played them with the guitar chord shapes it sounds perfect...

Why does this happen?
And does any one know how to tab guitar chord songs to ukulele chord songs using ukulele chord shapes?

Ukulele has different chord voicings/inversions than guitar. That might be why they sound off to your ear albeit being the same chords. Also some chords like slash chords are not really possible on ukulele.

A g is a g a c is a c. Fingers just go in different spots.

If you want to use the same fingering, capo your guitar at the fifth fret.

I thought I saw a thread on UU recently about this. Uke chords are simply the same guitar fingering but 5 steps up (or something like that)

thats if you are using Low G tuning. A ukulele with a low G, is the same as a guitar's bottom 4 strings, with a capo on the 5th fret, so with re-entrant G tuning, the chords would sound different, but still be right
