There are 3 movies I'm looking forward to this year, and this is one of them. "9" is an animated (stop animation?) by Tim Burton which is based on an award winning short film by Shane Acker. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic future and is in the genre that the creator calls "stitchpunk" (similar to steampunk, but the characters are stitched up kind of like dolls.) Here is a link to the short:

And this is the trailer for the full feature version by Tim Burton

The trailer blew my mind when I saw it in the previews for Star Trek I think it was?

I'm going to see it opening day :D.

What are the other two you're looking forward to? I personally am excited for District 9.

TRON Legacy and Tim Burton's Alice. Was going to post them seperately last night but was too tired. lol

Turns out I will not be watching 9 on opening day =(. I will, however, be playing Beatles Rock Band :D.

I loved it! The story was very simple and I'm more of a story-person, but the action and superb animation more than made up for it. If you watched the original short, a lot of things that are explained will make you go "ooooh". But I was reading reviews from people that knew nothing of the story and they said it was hard to follow.

BTW, this is NOT A KID'S MOVIE. I don't know why parents brought gaggles of little kids to see it. It's PG-13 but I'd say it's okay for 11 and up.
