How hard is it to get the wooden pegs or tuners for old ukuleles? When you see some of the older antique ukuleles for sale, one or two of the tuners are frequently missing. Where do you go for parts of this kind?
If I had a vintage uke that was missing original pegs, I'd probably pay a violin shop or luthier to install Peghed tuners. I have a set on my Glyph and they are the BEST uke tuners I've ever seen or heard of and best of all, the look like typical ungeared friction pegs. I'm a player not a collector so complete authenticity or originality isn't a big deal for me.
