Has anybody used this kit http://www.sagamusic.com/catalog/details.asp?ProductID=MT-10 to build an electric solidbody uke?

You get what you pay for. The electronics simply aren't very good quality and I have heard a lot of complaints around the bridge intonation and poor fret spacing. Also, the width of the neck is considerably narrower than a uke. You might contact Tom Morici at moongazermusic.com and see if he would customize one of his kits. When it comes down to it a solid body instrument is a pretty simple thing to make even with a limited supply of tools. I'd recommend checking out Melvyn Hiscock's book on building an electric guitar. He does a very good job explaining the process and all you need to do is think smaller.
