Last week I was in Finland with 4 students building ukulele from my kits.

At the end of 20 hours this is what we had:

Spot the Finns, the Australian and the Englishman!

Each kit was mastergrade or 3A koa - I didn't realise it... I just picked the wood out of the pile! Students got to where it was set up and ready to play without the finish yet being applied. Here is one finished as it were:

It was a strenuous 3 days for me but I am up for doing this anywhere in the world with 4 students and a workshop. This was the key. We worked in an adult training centre with some great facilities. However I am working on a near complete portable course...

Cool, and thanks for the pictures. That looks like a lot of finger-sawing, thumb-hitting, nail-sanding, blood, sweat 'n' tears good old fun there!
That's you on the far left, right?

My wife frowned suspiciously when I told her I want a middle-aged man for my birthday next year.

You mean cost? Tell me where you can get 3A koa grade kits with the sides formed, glued and ready to go for less. The koa alone is worth $100...
