One way to forget sore fingers from being a total newb on the ukulele is to play Rock Band 2! 
Tonight Cat'r and I went (with our band called The New Batteries--an obscure joke from "Return to Zork") to the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals Challenge. I did pretty well on medium bass--which I swore I would never play, even naming my own band Mausie and the EZ Cheese, so that I could play exclusively on easy bass. But I was amazed and relieved I didn't totally fail out of "Battery". I even practiced it part by part at 70% speed! It is TERRIBLE. I never want to play that again EVER!
How I got through the challenge on my own, with EZ Cheese, was to do it on medium *vocals*. RB doesn't care if you do the lyrics or not, as long as you hit the notes. So on "Battery", I just did "da da da da da da da, da da da da BATTERY!" I got through it that way.
Anyway, fingertips feeling much better, so back to fooling around with/practicing on my ukulele tomorrow.
