What is the difference between the Worth BM’s and BL’s? I presume a “lighter tension” means a lower tone?

The strings arn't as tight. You lose some volume but some people feel they play better.
Tone shouldn't drastically change.

There is not really a difference. All worth soprano sets have the same gauges concerning the second (0.0260) and the third (0.0291) string. Only the first and the fourth string may vary. If there is a difference in the tactile impression, it must be very subtle.

Also the word "light tension" or "high tension" indicates, that there is a factor in string design, that solely determines the tension. Of course it is much more about the tuning and the scale of the instrument. Thats why a string set, that is "medium tension" in C-tuning, becomes "high tension" in D-tuning and "low tension" in A-tuning.
