Who has a Fat neck?

That's a pretty personal question! (lol)

Mele from Maui has a wide but thin neck. It's not one of the Big K's, so sorry for butting in on your inquiry.

From what I've seen (and remember), Kamakas have a fatter neck than Koalohas.

Be sure to try before you buy.

Just for clarification, by "fattest" do you mean "wide" or "thick"?

The Mele I spoke about has a "wider" than normal fretboard, but is very "thin" (between thumb and chord-forming fingers).

I have an eleuke (soprano) also with a "wider" fretboard, but it is also rather "thick" and does not taper (ie, is not thinner at the 1st fret vs the 12th fret). It is pretty uniformly "thick" from head to body.

Most of the Mele's I've seen seem to have "wider than normal" fretboards. I have short, thick fingers so it works for me.

My Kanile'as have had the widest necks at the nut compared to other ukes of the same size. They aren't real deep, but they have been by far the most comfortable to hold for me.

I want wide and thick. I have a custom banjo Uke on order right now with
1.5" at the nut. I don't think thats crazy wide, just wide enough.

I want a koa concert with a wide neck, I would love at least 1 3/8'' at the nut.
