I've been looking at Aldrine's video lessons, and I'm sorry to say that most of his strumming patterns are too advanced for me as a beginner. Can anyone point me towards some resources that can help me out in this regard?
Thanks,
Matt

I was about to mention seeso's advice to you, but you found it first. Good for you!
Personally, I would concentrate on a simple strum first and try to get it as tight as possible, a metronome could be useful here. Strumming can be done just by going with your feeling, but when you develop a steady rhythm this will help when you play with others as well.

Technically, if you know the chords to the song, any song can be 'beginner-fied' by using a basic strum instead of the fancier ones. Just strumming d du udu for any old song is something I still do sometimes and have loads of fun doing.

Hi,

You can go to http://www.youtube.com/user/MusicTeacher2009 the Michael Lynch's channel aka "Ukulele Mike" on youtube. Maybe you can find what you looking for: lots of song with easy chords and strumming patterns.

PS: sorry for my bad english :(

Yes, this is a great place to visit if you are a beginner. There are 120 or more videos that Mike made. You can play along he shows the chords and plays the song and sings.:smileybounce:

Your English is fine, and thanks for pointing out this resource. I am now a shuffle strumming fool. Thank you!
