There is a poem by Gregrory Corso called Marriage
Corso was a beat poet and in the 50's poets like him and Ginsberg and Ferlenghetti, perhaps inspired by free form jazz and the stream of
consciousness prose of Kerouac did poetry sessions where the rhythm
of the words and the metre of the verse was set to music.
So what I did here was to pull up the words of the poem on the interwebs
and then just start strumming on the Uke using a few simple chords
and talked through half sung the poem using different tempos and moods.
I did the whole thing in one take and it was very spontaneous.
No video jus the audio
I will never have that recipe again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyrM1buzSDI
and the poem itself read by Ian Dury of the blockheads which
might help to understand what is going on.
