I just ordered a second concert uke from musicguymic that's stringed in low g. Since it's of significantly better quality than my current uke (which still sounds pretty good for its price) I was thinking of switching the g strings between them every so often so I can try out some high g songs on my more expensive uke. Was just checking to see if there's anything wrong in doing this. Do I still have to let the strings "settle in" after I swap them? And will the g string nut accommodate both string sizes?

I'm using aquilas for both of them.

You might find you like low g well enough to leave it on your "better" uke. I think it would be a pain to switch strings back and forth. I could be wrong, but if the strings have had tension on them, I don't think it would take that long to have them "settle in" again. I don't know how well the same set of strings would like being switched back and forth often anyhow.
