Song Help Request No One Else Comes Close by Joe

I've been playing this song on my uke with a simple picking pattern of G-C-E-A-E-C-G-C while holding down the chords and singing. It sounds OK, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on improving the picking pattern. Thanks for your help.

Bro, I was messing with this song a couple of months ago. The chord progression that I found, and that seemed to work for me was C-Am-F-G.

Code:

G|---------2--------2-------0-----------]

I believe the chorus is F-G-C-Am
