Some of you may have experienced a slight "thud" or "thump" at the beginning of a note when playing your uke through an amplifier. This is particularly noticeable with some DIY piezo bug pickups.

One way to minimise this annoying effect is to introduce an EQ cut at the lower end of the frequencies addressed by most guitar EQs. A cut around 70Hz -100Hz makes quite a difference.

If you were using a guitar EQ pedal like those made by Behringer and Boss, then dropping the left-most slider to its minimum setting would help most.

If you are lucky enough to have an acoustic amplifier with a notch filter, like that on the Marshall AS50 D, then sweeping the knob down to its lowest frequency setting can also help reduce the thud.

Hope someone finds this helpful. :)
