As i next uke i'd really like an 8 string...though i have zero dollars in the world (funny how ukes come first on budget before food...) I was thinking about the lanikai O-8E 8 string electric. It would really be great for performances, and i've seen a few people playing them on Youtube, but not totally satisfied with the recording, because it seems they may not have tuned perfectly.
My main concern with buying a uke is that the tuning is accurate most of the way up the neck (i really stay in frets 1-7) I also am not sure if that Ovangkol wood is solid or laminate...the Top is said to be solid, and since they do not specify on the sides and back, i assume they are not. Anyhow, does anyone have any experience with this uke...or want to give me 250 bucks?
