I know everyone talks about how often to change them and when can you tell...so I included this thread for kicks, because I know there are people out there like me.
I bought my first ukulele about 3 years ago and changed the strings for the first time today. Had factory strings for whatever Lanikai puts on them...MGM sent me some hilos cuz I wanted black nylon with wound C.
did it make a difference? of course it made a difference, but even though my factory strings were 3 years old, I never thought my ukulele sound bad or even dull. Should you change your strings every 3 months or so...probably, but it doesnt mean that you cant play old ones and still enjoy it with reasonable quality of sound.
