I really admire Skrik's animated gif avatar, so I made my own, but everytime I try to add it as my avatar, the animation part gets removed. What's up with that?

Thanks for the compliment.
It's the resizing that stops your anim from animming. Make sure the width & height & filesize are all under the allowed limits, and you'll be fine.

Thanks! That did the trick--yours is still much more fun, but my original avatar seemed a little too serious, so I thought I'd lighten him up a bit.
