Check out bassplaya.net it's a good tab site. Also look for the song The Chicken. It's a funky bass line by one of the greatest bass players ever, Jaco.

All great players and very funky.

Try "i get high one you" by sly and the family stone. its wicked cool sounding, mega funky, and pretty easy to play
