Just listened to the UK chart show and was surprised to hear I'm Yours has broken back into the charts. Just goes to show, real talent will always come out.

Maybe its just cos I'm new to the uke, but I quite like this song :D. The sad thing is I know the words from the assorted "Up Yours Deach" contest videos off here better than I know the originals.......:o

It's played non-stop here. Maybe in the UK it's played just enough to get you hooked.

to be honest I dont really recall hearing it a lot on the air. Although I've just been on holiday to Majorca, and it was on a compilation CD they played over and over around the pool area :D.

Still prefer the "Up Yours Deach" tracks......no offence tho dude!

Ever since the inferior "I'm Yours" sound-alike uke song by Train has taken over the airwaves, I really miss hearing "I'm Yours."

There is a sound-alike uke song? Hmmm is it on iTunes or Rhapsody?

Here it is on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT3zCj3F1d4

The lyrics get under my skin. Otherwise it's catchy enough.

Is this the same Train as in "Drops of Jupiter" from the '90s?

There are amazing similarities and a bunch of differences, but they acknowledge that at the bottom of the "info" that they submitted along with the track.

I think both songs are too wordy, but having said that, I like them both.

:mraz: ...Probably the number one most requested song I've been asked to play. Sadly, when I play his other songs, a lot of people have never heard of them. =|

That's a first for me, I'v never heard of a song being too wordy:D I do think it's a hard song to sing.

you cant play the first 3 notes and not play the whole song...thats teasing! thats like saying:

--"oh my god did you hear what happened?"
--"no what?"
--"nevermind"

Every time I meet someone new while I'm holding my Uke, they ask me "Can you play I'm Yours?".

Then I smile at'em and then...:music:...well you know.

hah, I like the song, it can just get tiresome hearing it EVERYWHERE you go. But on a plus, when I listen to it just to listen to it, it calms me down.

I was frustrated doing hw and the song came on (shuffle) and it made me calmer, so I put it on repeat :] aha

For a while, I got really tired of it. Especially during the boom on YouTube. While I'm usually not one to hate just because something is popular, the song was everywhere. The I'm Yoursedness has finally sort of subsided and I'm back to liking it. Got it on my iPod and I don't skip over when it comes on the mix.

My wife is a Mraz fan. She has three or four full albums and listens to them while catching the bus to work and back. I do like his other songs, but I only have the most popular ones on my iPod.

I have the discography too. But I only have We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. on my iPod.

That's exactly what I do. I play it, my friends turn around, then I stop.

And I've had that conversation before. Unfortunately, I'm always person B

did it ever really leave? I honestly think it will be heard for a long time because it's one of the very catchy tunes that beginners can grasp early on. As long as there are new people learning uke, I'm Yours will be to the ukulele like Smoke on the Water is to guitar.

That is my thoughts exactly, a good tune that can easily be learned give Noobe's encouragment to keep playing.

It certainly helped me....I got my uke tuned and can now do a VERY slow strum of all the chords. The fact that it sounds similar to the song after around 2 hours of playing any instrument ever is rocket fuel for me to carry on with this. No videos tho :p.
