I just got hooked on this new site. The credit for it goes to the Vlogbrothers for pointing it out in a recent vlog.
The organisation is called KIVA. Sign up and peruse the list of people in need of small loans to help change their lives. You pay $25 thru paypal to contribute to the person or project of your choice and in theory, you get paid back. So you can help people and it might not cost you a thing.
I've got to admit it's feels rewarding and kind of fun. It's almost like gambling but without any bad side.

Check it out.

Kiva is great - I've been doing it for several months, and the person I invested in is nearly paid up. It's great to form a group of Kiva lenders - by teaming up you can provide even more support to the borrower you choose.

Maybe we could suggest a few KIva people for a possible group effort and then vote by poll who gets the loan. UU in action! :)
