View Full Version : Excellent clamping system for mere pennies (or It's not rocket science, part 2)

A 70's era Kamaka tenor with a slightly separated top undergoing the low tech clamping method I often use. An empty glass weights just a few ounces. A glass full of pennies weights a lot! Just measure pennies for desired 'clamping' force, apply glue, apply 'clamp', clean off squeeze out and that's it. I work in high tech all day long. It's nice to come home and employ some really low tech!

Gravity is a very useful commodity, and it's free, and non-polluting.

Monica has one of those old fashioned weighing scales that uses real weights. They get used as clamps far more than they do for weighing.

Gravity - we fight against it all our lives. Newly born babies struggle to lift their heads off a pillow. You watch them fight against the force of gravity as they grow, until they can rush around, hardly noticing it - until they trip. As you grow older, gravity slowly starts to assert itself more and more, until at the very end..........

Ukantor (thankfully, I can still raise a glass.)
