on monday night in auckland, i went to the 'I love the islands' Samoa tsunami benefit concert. great show too. 25 bands 4 hours $25 dollars.

anyway half way through Bic runga's 3 songs, she called out neil finn (crowded house) and don macglashin (mutton birds), and don had a soprano uke which he played for the song.

again a greeat concert.

Don... I would never have picked him as a uke guy... The Finns sure, especially as they're BFF'd with Eddie Vedder... and Bret McKenzie and Anika Moa make no secret of their love for the uke :)

Turns out though that Don has been doing the rounds with the Wellington Uke Orchestra, here's less than 50 seconds:

I've always found it to be a shame that the Wellington Uke Orchestra vids that appear here and there seem to have been filmed by a drunk person with ADHD, especially considering the not drunk/ADHD alternatives :)

Still... very cool to see Don on the uke, and knowing first hand that Anchor Me is not that hard to play on the uke, it might be mind-blowing to see him have a crack at it :D

on the inside of crowded houses greatest hits, there is a studio shot of Seymour playing a martin ukulele, but i never heard it on record, any clues?

I freaked out a little when I saw this... I played uke with my band in a Samoa benefit concert the other night..... but it was in Seattle, haha. :D
