Tonal Variations?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody could help me by explaining the differences between the different materials ukes are made from? I'm pretty set on getting myself a Bushman Jenny Concert cut away, which is beautiful and made out of mahogany. Then I saw that Bushman also do Cedar ukes, and I wondered what they sounded like? I also saw another uke I was going to buy, because it was close to where I live and therefore easier than orderiing from the states, made from spruce. Though I just think that was the top, with mahogany back and sides?

Anyway, just wondered what the tonal differences where, if at all? On the note of the last uke, has anybody heard much about Hudson ukes, or played one? They seem to be flooding the market where I am at the moment. They sure do look nice, and I've even had a quick strum and they seem solid enough, but for the money they want, my moneys on a Jenny!

Cedar will as a rule sound brighter and crisper, Mahogany will sound more mellow and smooth. Choose according to your taste, or get both.

May I suggest a locally available Ohana 'ukulele? Ken Middleton is a Ohana factory representative here so he should be able to answer any questions about these 'ukuleles.

yeah I mahogany is going to have the most bass response since its not as dense a wood.

Spruce will have the most treble of them all, and Cedar will be somewhere in the middle...I do believe
