So, I've got a tuner

This one to be exact:
http://elderly.com/accessories/item...nd.com/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=4tm

And it does a great job with tuning... However, it doesn't do such a good job "clipping on" to the peg head of all my ukes. Which makes tuning not so much fun.

So, since I'm about to buy my yearly stock of strings, I've decided to throw a tuner into the order. But I don't want to buy a crappy one that doesn't work.

Here are the one's I've been looking at:

F-zone tuner- apparently senses vibrations like the one I already have

Kala ukulele tuner:

and this one (which is on sale!)

Tune Tech TT

So, anyone have any of these? If so, how compact is is? Will it fit in a case or in a pocket? And how accurate/ easy to use?

Thanks!

ah, but see. I'm a cheap-skate and if I bought from the uu store, I'd have to pay shipping twice. Whereas if I get from Elderly: once!

I have that Kala tuner and I like it. It is very simple and clips on better then a couple other clip on tuners I have. It isn't as small as some I have but it fits easily most places. I like that it changes color when the string is in tune.

Thanks you two!

Yeah, I've a relatively expensive Intellitouch tuner as well- but it just doesn't clip very well (did great for my guitar... But not so great for the smaller ukulele peg head).

The TuneTech and F-Zone look like repackaged versions of the Intelli.

You can get an Intelli IMT-500 or IMT-600 on Amazon for about $17 shipped.

Ah, thanks- but again: I'm a cheap-skate who would rather just save the 5 dollars shipping...

Thanks!

I think I'll go ahead with the F-zone (as Elderly also throws in a 1 year no questions asked warrenty...)

Thanks again, guys!

I've got a whole range of clip on tuners... and the F-zone/Tunetech/Intelli ( I have an F-Zone branded one) are my favorite so far. they are pretty accurate and compact. Some of the others including the UU one have a sorta cool feature of the color change when in tune thing... ultimately, it's not as cool as I thought. the bar moving is good enough. the color changing is almost a distraction. the mic on the UU style one is kinda cool but I suspect it is one of the reasons it is as large as it is. as a uke player, I also don't really need the other tuning modes on some of the other tuners (guitar, violin, etc). the F-zone is small and no frills. but I like it. It also lets you know that the battery is running low by the backlight not turning on but you are still able to tune. I don't know if it is because I use it so often, but it does seem to run out faster than my other tuners.

there are some tuners that flat out stink. I can't even remember what they are called. The path you are headed down seems good... the F-zone ones are good. and the UU ones, even tho they are bigger and somewhaq more expesive for you, are not bad either. and I think the UU ones are drop shipped from Mainland Ukes (at least mine was)... so you don't have to worry about paying toomuch extra for shipping. just think of it as extra to support UU. ;)
