Try this one version (http://www.tropicalstormhawaii.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?pid=song&song=tb/white_sandy_beach_of_hawaii__picking_version.txt) and let us know how it works out . . .

Yes Kanaka, that version is a good one and I usually play it! It's easy as well.

I don't know if I can help you , but... do you have a Low G picking tab that you are trying to emulate in High G or are you just trying to play the song in general with only a high G uke available to you?

I ask because, the tab that was linked above is the song picked on just the A string and, while it can get you the tune, I personally wouldn't feel that satisfied playing that by myself.

I like to pick the song using the chords using a modified in-to-out picking... it seems more "full" in comparison to the single string picking.

I don't know if this is gonna work and this might get confusing so I'll only describe a little bit of it, but here's what I do...

the chords I'm using for the first phrase that I'm going to describe are F.............. Bb, Bbm back to F, and C7

tabs for the strumming look a little like this...

"I saw you in my dreams.... on a white sandy beach of Hawaii"
F Bb Bbm F C7
A---0----------------------... ------1-----------1--------0------1
E---1----------------------... ------1-----------1--------1------0
C---0----------------------... ------2-----------1--------0------0
G---2----------------------... ------3-----------3--------2------0

But with my modified picking the tabs would look like this...

remember to keep the chords held down till the next chord change and use your free finger (ring or pinky) to hold the other notes if needed... the right hand is usually doing an in-to-out picking with a two string pluck at the beginning of chord changes...

don't play notes in ()... that's just suggested finger positioning.

"I saw you in my dreams... We were..."

"...walking hand in hand... on a..."

"...white... sandy beach... of Hawaii"
Bb Bbm F C7

I switched it up a little at the end of this phrase.

something like that.
I hope that the tabs show up correctly for you.
and I hope that wasn't too confusing...
and I hope that was somewhat helpful.

I think it's okay to just use the low G version. But it's up to you. You can use the versions that other people posted.
