I have a laminate Kala, and am wondering how important it is to have a humidifier in the case for this little guy?

You don't really need a humidifier for a laminate unless it has a solid top.

Second. I've got a Northern JCD 2 from 1976, laminate, that nas NEVER seen a humidifier - in Cold Cold Canada - and what a sound... the soundboard is straight and it's a great player. No need.

Then again, all my other ukes - Koa Pili Koko, Kumalae and Koaloha concert - have in-case humidifiers and I use a room humidifier in the studio, because RH goes below 30%.....

Hope this helps.

That is what I figured. I have a humidifier for my solid-top guitar, but didn't think I needed to worry about it with my all laminate uke.

Now I don't know if my Kala Kiwi has a solid top--I don't think so, but do you know?

Thanks!
