or however one spells that word (afficsio.... not Kumale).

I LOVE my (very) old Kumalae. It shares time with my recent Koaloha. I really don't know what it's all about but what a really nice, balanced instrument; it rings like a bell and I just can't get enough of it. The missing 12th fret on mine limits, but then I fall back on my Koaloha concert... which I also love....

I strum, fingerpick and do that Spanish harp-like thing than John King taught us. I even brought the Kumalae out live at Quebec City's major fare this summer at our band gig, on the 130th anniversary of the Ravenscrag. It rang like a bell.

Here's an idea: is Koaloha (or Kamaka) today's Kumalae? Or today's Dias, or Santos et Nunes? (Lightly) mass produced, family oriented, but still wonderful quality, pro grade instruments??? Or am I wrong?

Had mine for about 12 years a 1915 but I sinned and put modern friction tuners on it since I'm a player not a collector. She is one of my most favorite sopranos I have light as a feather and sings like a canary. (check my avatar pic)
