u spelt reggae wrong, but cool contest!

Ska is a variation of reggae no? I believe people classify ska as reggae to so I would say so.

My understanding is that ska is reggae's predecessor. And It is generally more uptempo. The rhythm got slowed because the heat in Jamaica made dancing at that uptempo, for sustained periods, challenging.

Thus came the easy skanking of the reggae rythm.

But, yes often the two are lumped together into one genre.

Have Fun + Aloha

Wait a minute there, Aldrine? Are you pulling our G-string here? :D

And there I was, on my way to mastering Waiting in Vain in Guerrero lounge-style with Papa Gutes-style licks and chunkage.

Damn, I had this in my pocket.

:) bob explains it better I knew I had this video sitting somewhere.

It was the american influence that changed Reggae Ska and Rocksteady. But I would say they're all the variations of the same thing.

Right on. Bob would know. I heard the heat slow down theory on the DVD of the movie Rockers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockers_(film). From one of the interviews in the special features. Anyways, no mattah. Have fun everyone.
