sucked it up... tuffened up and forked out for way, mega stoaked with the deal, heres a pic of the bad boy, what use think, comes with a harness and carry bag, should be fun cost me a $160 of your measly human dollars i mean our human dollars :uhoh: yehh now they will think i am human and take me to there leader

The djembe is a great instrument and fun to play. Learn your three basic tones and start pounding out some rhythms. A djembe and a tambourine mounted on a stand can sound startlingly like an entire drum kit.

yeh bra ive seen that on youtube, almost a one man band, lol... ive been watching alot of vids on youtube so it seems i got the idea, some great beginner vids... cant wait
 
those are great, specifically that one. If you ever need it re skinned though, bring it to a shop, its not as easy as you may think.

I bought one of the higher end doumbeks a while ago, and its great for jamming. Ive been a drummer for almost 11 years, so the rhythms came naturally to me, but Ive got some good youtube videos for learning stuff, ill post them here once I find them

the guy from the YT vids is the best person to learn from, hes really good and explains alot. his website is good too.

thanks mate, any more links or tips would be awsome, highly appreciate it, im glad i bought this over the congas or the bongos, at first i thought these where stupid till i watched a few vids and really got into it, look alot of fun, in the mail as we speak

Congrats. The djembe is a fun instrument to play, but deceptively difficult to master the tone & slaps so they are crisp and distinctive. The key is learning to relax when hitting the head. Easier said than done (for me anyway). I used to study for a year or so with a master drummer from Guinea. He made it look so easy. This setup, plus a kick drum, is all the drummer in my band uses.
 
That's pretty cool... I bought a little djembe to mess around with a few weeks back, but these are some great resources! I think I'm going to use it in my next video now...
 
thanks all, really lookin foward to gettin it, the ukulele is great jamin with mates but when we always jam sometimes theres something missin and the djembe is gonna be great but look foward to spending alot of hot summer days on mi varandar playing it and my ukulele lol but im not joining a hippy drumming circle hahaha always reminds me of the south park episode when cartman is the hippy exterminator nad looks them in his basement :D
