Russ has been working on a Low G tenor Cigar Box Uke for me for a while now.

It's just a few weeks from completion, so I thought I'd post some of the pics I have received during the build here to help me bide my time waiting!

Russ starts by making the neck/fret board.

I went with the classic Sonny Daze neck/head/fret marker combo...

Here it is paired with the Box, I was able to get one of the red cedar boxes Russ had available. was very happy with that!

The next step is preparing the neck for the Headstock and butt...

I also went with the geared tuners, the arrow is pointing out where some detail will go...

Probably something different on the headstock too...

Neck attached and sound holes cut. Again I went with the classic Sonny Daze F holes! When these things are collectors items, I want that classic SD look!

And the size of that box is PREFECT for a Tenor Uke, I'm also excited that this is the first Low G Ukulele Russ has made, first I'll own too!

That's all i have so far. Russ tells me that it's almost done, and now it's down to the details. I'll post more when I get em!

Thanks, I like it too, suposed to be a great box for this application.

I'm psyched!

Russ' work seems to be top knotch, so much more than bolting a neck on a box.

/me waits ... not so patiently :)

It arrived.

It's beautiful.

It's Broken.

even the wodden box was split. Thank you USPS

It's insured, but it's not the same.

It can maybe be fixed.

I strummed it before I loosend the strings.. and it sounded awesome...

oh man that sucks im sorry dude

wow. That sucks. You could find a local luthier and maybe see if he/she can fix it. If not you could try to remove the neck and replace the cigar box with another.
