Alright.. So I've recently fallen in love with the timbre of everything with a resonator in it, and I want to try my hand at a Dobrolele, if you will.
That said, I have zero experience with resonators! I have no idea where to start! Apart from the obvious (neck, body, tuning machines, etc..) I have no idea how the innards of a resonating instrument look/work.
I've seen pictures of folks with altoids tins for resonators in cigar box guitars, and I'm wondering if I can't work out a similar construct.. I've also heard tell of folks using pie tins or metal bowls as resonators. Anybody mind giving the newbie a hand?
