...so I had to invent a new one. Last night, a bunch of things happening on the workshop table. A semi-ready tenor of wenge and cedar being sanded and scraped, a couple of piccolos getting glued, a mahogany soprano recently finished.

(dramatic pause)

I loosen a clamp from a block in one of the piccolos, another clamp falls off and knocks over a glass of red wine. Splashes everywhere. One piccolo rim is now pink, along with a mold, some wooden clamps and the table.

But the raw, completely unsealed, cedar top on the tenor doesn't get one single drop on it. You can see the discolored rim in this vid, I show it in the middle somewhere.

Stupid thing was, I wasn't drunk or anything. I had just filled my glass before dinner and went down to check on the glue.

Lesson learned? We'll see. At least a friend adviced me that with the right angle on the sales pitch, the wine-stained uke might get me a higher price. Maybe if I stub a roach in it as well.
