It is very rare that these instruments get to point of sale. It is in fact a rare Howlett 2nd! I got the instrument to finished stage and hadn't paid enough earlier attention to the miniscus that forms around the neck/body join when I'm spraying a uke that is 'complete'. I strung it up and it sounded superb and like all finished pieces, it remained with me for 2 weeks in my house for a final tweeking before shipping. Except this was a surplus uke: a mistake, long story...

After resting, the lacquer shrank back and then when I scraped it out etc,etc I was left with a little 'grin' in the finish. It sounded so good I couldn't consign it to the scrap heap and after a few days in the 'for sale' section of my website it was sold. It now goes back into the workshop for a retro fit pickup which I will video later on this week - a few tricks fitting battery clips and shortening wires and such.

I dont get it.... is it for sale now or what?

A beautiful instrument BTW. for a factory "2nd" that thing is supreme!!!

Was - it sold in a few days to an existing client. I did put it in the for sale section.
