how about u guys?

Does it have the scalloped fretboard? I always wondered about how those played. hammer ons & pull offs galore I bet.

sadly as far as guitars ,, all I have left ,that I havent sold is my workhorse strat copy, about 25 yrs old, still plays good But its been worked on a bit.. & a Seagull folk and a off brand solid cedar classical.
glad to see you guys buy & keep. I often end up buying & selling later to fund something else.

My guitars were gifts:

Washburn D10S (Spruce/Mahogany Acoustic)
Yamaha APX-4A (Spruce/Nato Acoustic-Electric)

The Yamaha is surprisingly amazing for its price (although it's sadly discontinued).

My dad told me he used to have a custom Framus solidbody (a 1960s model; he can't remember the specifics), but he has no idea what he did with it (he "lost" it thirty years ago, or maybe "a friend borrowed it" or something utterly stupid like that). If he can recover it (which is highly unlikely at this point), I think I could die happily.

I've thinned the herd, but these are the ones I'm keeping (for now):
Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus Honey Burst
Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Black w/ Floyd Rose
Fender Telecaster USA 63 RI Whitewash
Gibson Flying V Faded Cherry
Gibson Explorer Faded Cherry
Rainsong OM1000

Ahh, feels like I'm not keeping too many now that I list them. Feel much less guilty now.

01-17-2011, 04:27 PM
I don't play guitar well but I have kept these for some time:

PRS SE Custom
Epiphone G400 Custom
Yamaha FG 355

Yamaha FG-300S
Yamaha CG-111S

Dumped/sold all my expensive stuff (Martins, high-end Breedlove) years ago and couldn't be happier.

BTW, the stuff out of the Hongshu factory is overall of a very high (QC) value with redesigns (post-May 2010) in even their entry-level classicals.

01-21-2011, 05:22 PM
Several electrics and acoustics, but my FAV. is my 1968 Martin D-18. Custom D-45 snowflake inlays.

I have a Gibson SG '61 reissue in Cherry 2 feet away at the moment, but I'm selling it for a friend, it's pretty slick, too bad I can't do much but pick a few notes on it. It realy does have a super sweet fast neck. I will miss it.

Have for acoustics an Aria 1/2 size classical, a circa 1940 Supertone Prep, all birch, and a circa 1950-60 Stella in the black with faux white binding and tiger stripes, they were for my hubby but after 3 guitars he has decided I was right after all and has stopped scoffing and is back with his bari uke. The vintage ones look great on stands in the living room next to a Remo 12" djembe and I'm keeping the Aria to further confuse and frustrate myself, also because I had classicals decades ago and miss them. Love the Aria and it's cedar top.

I have These Guitars:

Gibson Custom Les Paul 'Silverburst' (Vintage 1980)
Fender Hwy 1 Telecaster
Fender Thinline Tele (it's a Partscaster I assembled from bits but looks like the real deal)
Fender Esquire (being built from parts... not quite finished yet)
Fender 9-string Telecaster (Heavily Modded Tele to accomodate the 3 extra strings... also not quite finished yet)
Fender Special Player Jaguar
Fender Baritone Special (Jaguar)
Ibanez RG1527 (7-string)
Ibanez RG7321 (7-string)
Raven West Telecaster (neck-through)
Danelectro U3 (re-issue from the 90's)
Danelectro U1 (I'm currently modding it with a 'sitar' simulator bridge)
Maton EM-325C (Australian Made Acoustic)

...and these Basses (if they count as axes):

Fender US Deluxe P
Fender US Standard Fretless J
Waterstone TP-12 (12-string)
Hamer CH-12 (12-string)

Yeah, I like extra strings...

I also have a matching old Soviet era Orfeus Hebros guitar and bass in the gorgeously tacky 'sunburst' finish, but they are both in an extreme state of disrepair and I doubt I'll have the time to get around to fixing them anytime soon...

...almost forgot... I also have a tragicly terrible classical guitar my Mum found at a garage sale for almost nothing

Oh man, the tears be running - I had to sell most of my babies - ukes and guitars!
But I decided I could still keep one guitar and one ukulele...

Here's what I have that I'll be keeping:

Here's what I sold or am selling:
Martin 000-15s hog top 12 fret slot head

My "ur" guitar was a Kent clone of a Fender Strat back in 65. My "ur" acoustic was a Gibson Hummingbird, in 67 or 68. My "ur" bass was, I think a Kent, but might have been another similar inexpensive brand, in 66 or 67.

Fender '95-96 Mexican made strat. Not sure what model (input?). It was Keoki Kahumoku's and he played it for a while several years ago when he almost cut his fingers off (it was easier on healing hands than an acoustic).

Ibanez GX-cheapo-something.
