Is the spacing between the frets closer on a concert than a tenor?

Yes. For instance, the distance between the nut and the first fret on a concert is .842". On a tenor it is 0.954". And so on.

I find tenor sound more rounded and full, but concert sound brighter and crisper. I don't know how to describe it, but there is a difference in sound.
