In “Apollo Wives,” a documentary about the space program's effect on the astronauts' wives, produced by BBC Wales and being shown Tuesday night on BBC America, the ukulele plays a small but important role:

The emotional high point comes when Clare Whitfield, former wife of Rusty Schweickart, picks up her ukulele and leads the women in a song she wrote about their strange experience and how they’ve come to understand it:

I won’t be here to interrupt you,

I won’t be here to contradict you,

I won’t be here to see your thunder,

You can be macho man on your own.​

And, of course, Neil Armstrong was a uke-player. It's just a space-y instrument, I guess.
